Gerogia Gardener's Guide

This is probably the quickest, easiest, most helpful gardener's guide I've used. Yes, there may be other books that have more information, but wading thru all the extraneous fluff that some of these guides contain is oftentimes more info than is needed for a quick look-up. I live in Arkansas, and the Georgia Gardener's Guide works really great for my area -- as well as Georgia!

Great Gardening Tips for Yankees Moving South

I found Walter's book to be a great resource for someone like myself who is learning to garden in Georgia red clay after planting in New Jersy black soil. I keep this book on my coffee table for a quick reference. The material is well organized and easy to understand.

Great resource for beginners

I thought this was very helpful, being a recent transplant to Georgia. The information not only gives you the exact planting conditions, a brief history, and several ideal selections, I thought the descriptions were on target. Although yes, I find that other books are more detailed in terms of pests and may have larger pictures, this book gives great instructions specific to Georgia and the west piedmont area of the Carolinas and is a constant reference year round. This is a fabulous book for those of us who want to know what is the best choice to plant in that needy section of the garden!

There's hope for novice Southern gardeners!

My husband and I are about to buy our first home, and are truly babes in the wood about landscaping and gardening. After reading (and re-reading) Walter's and Erica's book, I think I'm up to the challenge of creating a handsome yard that will survive our unpredictable winters and sultry summers. Their advice about what will grow and flourish (and more importantly, what *won't*) has been invaluable to me in planning what I want to plant in the months and years to come. A wonderful book!

This book made my garden grow!

I have tired of reading gardening books written by someone in England or New York. This book is written by two of us........and they know Georgia gardening! Bravo! My garden has never looked better, and yours will too after listening to these two fellow Georgians.
