I had not heard of Emlyn Williams when a friend highly recommended this book. Since my father was Welsh, I thought it might be interesting. It is a delightful book. His life is a remarkable one: from a laborer's family in Wales, he later gets a scholarship to Christ Church, travels in Europe and finally makes it to the stage. Although there were hardships, he makes light of them. By the end, I could hardly put it down and felt happy when things went well for him. It also gave me a better impression of what life was like around 1920. I liked it so much went straight to reading "Emlyn" and decided maybe I should read more non-fiction...
