you really get sucked into the emotions of the characters and the descriptions are very good. You can almost taste the orange juice and smell the coffee in the morning after scene. That part always makes me want to cook breakfast. Anyway, back to the story. The story is good, it reminds me of Good in Bed the way it draws you in emotionally. Julia is so pragmantic and unromantic that you never feel like this is a sappy kind of love story. I do wonder why she felt so attracted to Brad, he was very shallow. I mean, he came around and showed her more than just the golden boy but still. It was like the author explained it but didn't show it so much. I really loved reading it, it wasn't so much a a quick read because so much happened in the story. Anyway it's a good book. It's not a lightweight beach read. It has psychological drama, love, and a little mystery.
A good book

here is a real reviewThis book is a psychological drama with romance, dysfunctional family issues, sexual issues and marriage issues. It starts off with the main character Julia, a talented interior decorator who meets Brad bradford (stupid name) at a clients party. She correctly asumes he is a rich playboy with no real intellectual side( a sexual animal/predator). However Julia is an extremely self-contained, intellectual, introverted type A individual herself. So the opposites attract. She decides to let go and have a purely physical fling. But of course they get a lil caught up but both are trying to blow off their feelings for vaious reasons. Julia is too busy trying to seem cool and uneffected and Brad is affianced to an American socialite (marriage set up in Boston by his grande dame British mama) but feels drawn back to Julia over and over again. So anyway after some stuff happens they realize they should get together and they elope. But the thing is Brad's mother and fiancee have to be placated. You see this is high society so it's a big deal. It turns out Brad and his mother have a weird relationship and Julia has to deal with that on top of getting acclimated to married life, America, and Boston's high society. So you all read the rest. It has god psychological stuuf good insights on human motives, social behaviors and modern society vs old society. Not a trashy sex filled novel, very good.
