SECRET CRUSH Lately, Kouhei can't get his friend Kurara out of his mind. Even though he has known her since elementary school, all of a sudden, ever since she came back from summer vacation, he has been crushing on her . . . hard. But something is different about Kurarashe is acting very oddly. Sometimes she seems wholesome, pure, and innocent, and at other times she is extremely forward and unabashed. Kouhei soon learns that Kurara has multiple personalitiesand decides to help her keep her secret from their classmates. But Kouhei finds himself struggling between helping Kurara as a friend and trying to win her heart . . . which is a challenge, since she has many!
Um, this volume has a pretty negative seeming professional review, and I'd like to respond to that. If anyone's looking for the one-and-only true, earth-shaking, world-changing manga, well, Gacha Gacha isn't for you. On the other hand, if you're looking for a light hearted romp through the lives of two kids that are both learning what love and romance is about, I think Gacha Gacha might be for you. Both Kouhei's denseness (he really needs to be hit on the head by one to get a clue sometimes) and Kurara's seeming carelessness towards Kouhei's attitudes did come across as pretty stereotypical. Yet it's humor and (I don't what else to call it but) it's heart-warming-ness have made me not regret buying it. Now all I've got to do is overcome my impatience till they publish the next volume...
