Star Wars: Fury

It was well written and synced nicely with the other stories that preceded this one. The author showed ruthlessness in the detail of the storyline turning on one of the beloved characters but used this as a strength to wrap up the end and lead in to the next installment.

awesome

this book was great. i enjoyed reading it very much. i can't wait to read the last 2 books

Allston's last addition to the series...

If you've read my other reviews for this series, you know that I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Allston's books in this series (and his X-Wing :)) and he doesn't fail to disappoint me in this one. The book has the right amount of action, involves all the critical characters, just enough darkside/lightside debate... Just enough of everything you could want in a Star Wars book. Minor spoiler************************** I was ready to hunt Allston down when it looked like he was about to kill of Kyle Katarn. I've enjoyed his character ever since his games and can't stand the thought of some fool like Jacen writing him off. I don't look forward to the next book at all. Travis has done what seems like countless unacceptable things in the last two books she wrote. -Boba Fett is NOT a father figure. He is a one of a kind bounty hunter. Quit trying to present him as some sort of amazing father figure. -Boba Fett in general doesn't belong in the series. -She killed Mara, regardless of whether it was a group choice or not, she wrote the book that killed off one of my favorite characters. I will always hold her responsible for that.

I am suprised others here didn't like this one

I have to admit that early on in this series I was not hooked on it. Some of the early books just seemed slow and pointless. But this one really hooked me and had me up all night reading it. Is it somewhat of a rehashing of stories we have already read? Yes. Is it lacking in originality? A little bit. But I for one find myself waiting anxiously to see who is going to be the one to whack Jacen in the end. ****some possible spoilers here**** Luke finally woke up in this book and quit being a pussy. If history has shown us anything it is that he knows how to whoop up on the sith and he has already bested Jacen once. But I think having him kill Jacen would be too obvious and I hope they let someone else be the hero this time around. Boba Fett is just lurking in the shadows somewhere waiting for his opportunity. Jacen killed his daughter and Fett is not one to forget such things. But he is patient and will wait for the right opportunity to strike. Tenal Ka certainly has the motive to whack Jacen, but does she have the ability? She is good, but is she that good? Ben would certainly like to take Jacen down, but he is just a kid and I don't think he has the ability. Jaina is getting ready to train under Fett which I think is an awesome idea. Will this give her the edge she needs to be the one to take out Jacen? When it comes down to it would she even be able to deal the finishing blow? Could someone from within his own crew stab him in the back? After strangling one of his top aides simply for not being omnipotent, right in front of his crew, certainly didn't earn him any new friends amongst those he claims to be fighting for. Admiral Niathal isn't stupid either and I wouldn't be suprised if she is plotting behind his back to have him whacked. Jacen would never consider her a serious threat which puts her in a good spot to be planning something. I guess my point is that I am quite curious to see how this is all going to play out. Jacen is contemplating when to stand up and declare himself a sith lord to the galaxy. I think that enough people on both sides of the war remember all to well what the last sith lords were like and he may find himself friendless and running from people on both sides. He considers himself to be invincible but I think he is going to find more and more that he is not. I am sorry some of the other reviewers didn't like this book, or even this series as a whole. I am really getting into it and look forward to it's conclusion.
