I enjoy making modern reproductions of antique furniture as a hobby so I purchased this book for period inspirations. I wasn't disappointed. The book was printed in the 1920s so the photos aren't clear by modern standards but they're clear enough and there are hundreds of them, many full page size. With the exception of drop leaf tables, most of the pieces in the book are shown with a single photo. There's enough historical info about furniture development, woods used, geographical styles, etc., to keep the hobbyist interested. This book doesn't contain enough construction info (thankfully) to be of use to anyone looking to fake antiques. There are no measurements, joint descriptions, etc. This is an excellent reference source for anyone with an interest in the furniture used in this country 1620-1720, before it was a country.
