excellent source

I used this book extensively in writing my senior thesis--it was my primary source, and I am forever indebted to Robert Clyde for his excellent scholarship. This book is a necessary read for anyone interested in Scottish history or British colonial history in general. It is not dense, and Mr. Clyde's prose is easily accessible to both scholars and laymen alike.
