This picture book series recounts highlights from the lives of early American founders and social pioneers. Each book also contains study questions for each chapter, as well as special activities and character-building lessons. Full color.
I discovered this book set at a homeschool library and was pleasantly surprised at the content. Each book comes with two additional booklets, one with discussion questions that include character and biblical tie-ins, and another "activity" book. The activity book shares interesting facts about the time period, sends the child on a scavenger hunt through the books to unlock a coded message, and has hands-on documents like a replica of the Declaration of Independence, a masked coded message and small postcard illustrations. The book itself is well written with bite-sized pieces of the historical events told from the viewpoint of a fictional young person. Using this book is a fun way to cover a topic quickly, and is great for a short unit of study or to summarize a longer one. It is definitely worth the price for what you get!

I like that it comes with a set. The book is also good because it tells interesting facts.
