Lawrence C. Ross, Jr.'s irresistible debut novel charts one man's journey of self discovery through a series of wild, unforgettable adventures... His profile as an up-and-coming attorney at the powerful Los Angeles law firm of Ketchings & Martin doesn't quite jibe with the fact that Jason Richards barely has a social life, much less a love life. Self discovery

This is a self discovery journal to me. I can identify with still exploring life to see the real me. Also how others find them selves earlier and look down apon those who are still lost. I especially like how they add the manipulative character that is in all our lives. They can spot you during your journey and stay just for the ride. This should/could be a Tyler Perry movie/play. I would go see them both......

Good morality tale

Good morality tale that reminds one the love of money and sex can ruin your life. Funny and sweet and good first novel.

A real good book to read............

The moment I seen the book I had to get it. The title caught my attention. The book was so good that I finish the book in one day. I really have to say Lawerence Ross did an execellent job with this book. I would love to read more of his work. I have to say my favorite character in the book was Carole bestfriend Marcia actually I think all of the characters was on point. I would have like the ending to be more than it was but maybe the author can do a part two. I would love to know what happen because at the end Jason and Carole did end up been together but he got suspended from his job so I want to know what happen with that and Steven hating self. Don't Be Influenced

Jason Richards is a good, nice guy. Fresh out of law school, he enjoys talking to his neighbor, Mrs. Petroff, who believes that if he eats her beef stroganoff every Friday night, he'll find someone to have a meaningful relationship with. That is, until he pairs up with Steven Cox, an arrogant, no-good lawyer with a penchant for showing off. After 2 years, the case that Jason's been working on hits pay-dirt. Problem is, he's looking for love the wrong way and gets influenced by Steven, who's not only jealous, but intends to help him spend the four-million dollar bonus he received from winning his case. Carole Brantford works at a non-profit agency. Her sole intent is to help others, but she just can't seem to help herself. In and out of relationships, she feels like she'll never find "the one." Finally, with advice from her good friend Marcia and the help of a magazine, she begins to realize that in love, there are no set "rules" and you have to play your cards to win, but with the right person. These two never anticipated running into each other again; there are still scars from their college days. Carole hasn't gotten over what happened in their relationship and still holds a bitter grudge against Jason. Although they have a close, mutual friend in common, he just wants to stay out of her way. Will they ever put aside their difference to really come to know and understand what's important in life? FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS was an easy, light-hearted read. From beginning to end, I found myself laughing and thinking about situations where I could recall reading a magazine and trying to follow the advice, realizing that it was very misguided. Lawrence Ross does an excellent job of showing how you can be easily influenced when you want to fit in, and the beauty of being exactly who you are. The book also highlights the dangers of putting your trust in people you don't know too fast and too soon. Definitely an eye-opener, the title of this book holds meaning to so much more. Friends with Benefits by Lawrence Ross: An PeoplewholoveGoodBooks Review

Friends with Benefits by Lawrence Ross is a romantic read with a few twists of drama. Jason Richards is a rising attorney at the law firm of Ketchings and Martin. Jason is focused on his career and the future. After being dissed by a woman at a bar and landing a major bonus for a high-profile case, he decides it's time for a change. His "friend" Steven introduces him to the "Titan" lifestyle. A lifestyle that revolves around hot women, hot sex, hot cars, and hot clothes. Jason is enjoying his new lifestyle until he finds himself falling in love with Carole, a former flame and Director of Mama's House, where he volunteers and offers legal advice. He uses the Titan "Friends with Benefits" logic to reel her in. Little does Jason know that Carole is keeping a secret of her own. Jason quickly discovers the Titan lifestyle is not for him and decided to leave it behind but not before the situation goes out of control and his lifestyle becomes common knowledge and Carole finds out. Friends with Benefits starts off slow but quickly builds to a fast-paced, page-turning story that you will enjoy; however, I was a little disappointed with the ending but overall, the book is a great read. I give this book 4 stars. Reviewed by Shay C of PeoplewholoveGoodBooks
