Know thyself

Know thyself was the inscription over the entrance to the oracle in Delphi. Nanna Svendsen tells us that the reason we remember and love the classic fairy tales is that they offer descriptions of aspects of ourselves and that our life journeys often go well or badly depending on which characters in our own psyche we choose to empower the most. In Nannas world we all have princes and princesses on board and witches and ogres as well. Once upon a time is both now and then and the characters we have are there regardless of gender. So man or woman, we could all have a prince (a very competent doer) and we should all listen to our princess (an accurately understood intuition). When the prince falls in love with, and marries the princess, they (and we who have them), live happily ever after ... then we possess the best understanding and know how to act to the best of our ability and it is the perfect union. Nanna also says you don't want one without the other: it doesn't matter how good your intuition is if you can't act well -- meaning that you have to get other people to do your bidding ... a witch may be born. Or you are a compulsive DOer, who is at it, without knowing WHY you are doing things -- a SLAVE if you are obediant or and OGRE if you are mean... maybe both.Fairy tales are life journeys powered by your own characters, Nanna says. So Freya and the Magic Cloak has something to teach everyone, parent or child, boy or girl, and it is about our selves if we have the key. And when you have the key, you become your own oracle. What can be more important?
