The author espouses the holistic view toward stress identification and reduction. He explains that we may havevery little control over the external environment. In addition,attitudes and unreasoned belief systems fuel stress. Thetype A person tends to hurry; whereas the type B personhas little sense of urgency. Type B persons have lower stressrisk and ;therefore, lower incidence of heart disease.Lowered stress levels should be combined with eating leanmeat, eliminating whole milk and increasing exercise.Lastly, salt should be used sparingly. This book providessimple non-invasive ways to recognize and reduce stressto a manageable level before its unhealthy manifestationsrequire extensive medical treatment.
