Wonderful!!!

This book is GREAT! It really helped my son overcome his fears of the dark. We noticed a huge difference after he started reading this book.

Please read Franklin in the Dark

This is the best of all of the Franklin stories, and the first one published. It's a wonderful read aloud story, a great story for children to act out, and an easy way to begin a discussion of "things that scare us". Children are amazed to learn that grownups can be frightened of things too. This book should be in every child's home collection and in every elementary teacher's too!

I think every kid was scared of the dark...

This is a book reminds me of all the things i was scared of when I was little, and how i overcame them with the help of my mom. I think that everyone has had their fears when they were little, and many still do. It's a cute book.

I'm scared

Franklin is afraid of sleeping in his shell at night. This is every kid's problem being afraid of the dark. So Franklin goes on a trip looking for help, but finds out everybody is afraid of something. It lets the kids know it's ok to be afraid, but also tries to help him overcome being afraid too. The perfect book for a preschooler.

My first experience with Franklin - and I'm hooked.

I enjoyed this book myself (a 40-yr-old with no children), and had my 7-yr-old nephew read it to me when he visited. He found it easy enough to read and understand at the same time, but with just enough challenge. Franklin is a delightful turtle who faces everyday things, like being afraid of small, dark places. As he looks for help, he discovers that other friends have fears of everyday things as well. Very sensitively written, humor appropriate for 4- to 8-year-olds.
