Foxes Three

A great book. My kids loved it. We are now looking for other books by Molly Burkett.

Foxes Three. What can I say? IT'S THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD. Here's how the story goes. A family called the Burketts runs this really cool animal rehabilitation center. One day this farmer gives them three baby foxes to raise. Two were vixens, one was a male. The male was called Tom. He never would have made a pet. He did not tolerate beig handled. The largest vixen was called Fred. She tolerated being handled but she did not enjoy it. The smallest of the three foxes was called Jenny. She absolutely LOVED being pet and handled and she never would have gone to the wild instead of living with the Burketts. The Burketts let the other two foxes go, and they tried to let her go, but of course she didn't want to go. Anyway, she became one of the family, and she loved John even more than the dogs did. She just loved the Burketts so much. But nothing is forever. What I mean by that is . . . Jenny wasn't forever. One day Jenny, Puppy, and Susie (the two dogs) were in the garage now. Before Jenny, Puppy and John had shared the bond that was now between Jenny and John. At first, it was clear that Puppy didn't like Jenny, but she didn't wish her any harm either. Let's just say, things changed, Puppy did something to Jenny in that garage that changed Jenny forever. She no longer liked John. She went back to the wild.
