For beginner readers - phonic-based text is cleverly blended with a funny story Includes phonics guide for parents... and some pages have fold-out flaps!. This description may be from another edition of this product.
My daughter is in Kindergarten but is probably considered an advanced beginner in reading. She enjoyed this book "Fox on a Box". It was not too difficult for her to read and she really enjoyed the lift the flap surprises behind some of the pages. She also liked looking for the little duck hidden on each page. I checked this book out at the library but came here and purchased the set "Phonics Stories Frog on a log and other tales" by the same author. She has not read any of the stories yet out of the other book but after looking through the book I would say those stories would be a bit more difficult than this book was for her just yet but it still looks very engaging and better than a lot of the other beginning reader stories available. I think the price listed is a little high for a single book which is why I purchased the set mentioned above compared to single book purchases of the same books. This book is almost double what most similar single books are but it did have lift the flap type pages. It was still a good reader despite the price. Please note that this book "Fox on a box" is only one story. (Just an FYI in case my post is confusing on that.)
