Fort Zion

I enjoyed reading this book so much that I could not put it down till it was finished. And I don't read a lot of books.It was interesting to learn the hardships that the Mormans went through. It kept you wondering what was going to happen next. I can't wait for the next one to find out more of the details of living through this kind of life. Keep up the good work Mr. Foster, you are a great writer.

Robert Foster has done a marvelous job of weaving actual history into a story plot that captivates and engages the reader's mind and interests. His ability to seep into each of his characters minds gives credibility to the dialogue and to the factual history they are fictionally a part of. After reading his book, I have a renewed interest in my ancestor's history and am looking forward to the sequel which will continue not only the saga of Mormon migration but of the more romantic plots also.

This book was an enjoyable reading experience--a clean-cut unusual western historical novel that makes the reader feel like they are part of a secret pioneering expedtion into a foreign land, Utah-which was part of Mexico at that time. The expedition must prevail against overwheming odds, as 20,000 Mormon people will soon be driven from Nauvoo, Illinois and will follow this secret expedition. Once you start reading this book, you can't lay it down, as the plot and the charactures keep you wondering what you will read next!!!!! After reading this book, all I can say is hurry up with the second volume!!!!.

An impressively written novel of historical fiction by Robert L. Foster, Fort Zion tells the story of a secret wagon train of handpicked volunteers dispatched by Joseph Smith, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons).
