Long-awaited Pleasure in the Making

Forbidden Temptation is the 4th and final book about the Lockhart's sisters - Ruby, Opal, Pearl, and Amber. This time, it is Ruby's story. Ruby is the oldest of the Lockharts and has literally put her life "on hold" to care for her sisters after the death of their parents. Ironically, now Opal, Pearl and even Amber, the youngest have all married and moved on with their lives, as well as their cousin, Paige. Now, just what is poor Ruby to do. She is all alone in the family home -- a big, lonely house with no one to share it with. Well, this is not quite true. There has always been Luther Biggens -- the family friend, who has been like a brother to them. Well, at Opal's wedding reception, things changed drastically between Luther and Ruby. They both have had feelings for each other for as long as they can remember. The problem is, they never actually came out and told one another just how they feel. Now, that they have connected, they have misconceptions about it. Ruby thinks Luther is basically angry with her for having come on to him and Luther, who was disabled in the service (lost his foot and leg and now wears a prosthesis) feels Ruby cannot accept him because of his disability. Little do they both know -- what's left unsaid means a lot. They have made themselves and almost the others around them miserable, because Ruby and Luther feel they have stepped into a "forbidden temptation." I loved this story. Wonderful story that keeps you turning the pages hoping that Ruby or Luther will finally fess us and admit their love. Truthfully, I was telling one of my reading partners, that of the four stories about the Lockhart sisters, I actually enjoyed this book the most. It took me about a day to finish it -- something unusual for me at this time in my life when I am very busy doing other things first. Also, I enjoyed the other three, especially the first book, "In Bed With Her Boss" and most definitely Amber's story, "His Holiday Bride." Forbidden Temptation is a great read and a quick page turner. You will not want to put it down until you find out what happens next and next.

A refreshing change

I will admit I am not an avid reader of Mrs. Forster's books, that being said maybe that helped me to read into the story with no expectations and enabled me to thoroughly enjoy the story. The few story's I have read of Mrs. Forester's I have also enjoyed. Forbidden Temptation reminded me of some of my previous relationships that I have been in where insecurities and misconceptions have gotten in the way of progress and often left me and the other person continuously at square one. Reminded me of relationships that did not succeed because I was too emotionally scarred at that time to open up to the other person and trust them with my heart. Also reminded me that not all love stories go as planned, expected or have an "ideal" story line. I found this to be a refreshing change from most romance novels that I read, because I felt that I could relate to their struggles and frustrations with each other and their relationship. Forbidden Temptation reminded me that romance novels can be more realistic than fantasy. Thank you Mrs. Forester and I look forward to your next book.

Forbidden Temptation

This book was the bomb I really enjoyed reading and would like for any one who loves to sit down with a good book to buy it. Gwynne Forster is a great writer I love reading her books. She is Blessed

I like this book

I am a fan of Gwynne Forster books. Most of them are really good. I enjoyed the last of the series. Luther was just what Ruby needed. She justed needed to see him as a man. Going from family friend to lover is a big transition. Ruby just needed a push in the right direction.

Oh my! What have I done?

Ruby Lockart is almost at peace; all of her sisters are married or engaged, even Ms. 'wild-child', Amber. Ruby had long ago, when she became a surrogate mother of sorts to her sisters, determined if they were happy and in good relationships her life was complete. Only on occasion does she have vicarious thoughts about the physical and heartfelt ambiance of being in love. She has a very good friend; a man who is like a brother to all of them and that is all the male interfacing she needs, or at least it was. Luther Biggens, ex-Navy SEAL, has been Ruby's friend since she was three and he was nine. He is caring, dependable and as solid as a rock. After his Naval career was brought to an abrupt end he returned home to manage the family's automobile dealerships. Luther has always wanted more than friendship from Ruby, but he never acted on his feelings because he did not want to lose the relationship they did have. But, Ruby did something out of character the night of her sister's wedding, and now Luther has, and is a problem. Ruby cannot look at him without remembering the ways he'd pleasured her, and even more troubling is the fact that she wants to do it again... and again.... FORBIDDEN TEMPTATION is the fourth and final book in what has become a tantalizing continuity series about four sisters; each written by different authors. As the sister's found their destinies, each story was like a prelude to the other. Ms. Forster's addition gives formidable characters, a good story, and an entertaining plot; this is a culminating read. Reviewed by aNN of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers
