WHAT DA F*** WAS THIS S***?

Omar, what did you DO? Im gonna be honest wit you, I picked this book up,read the first chapter. I threw this book down on the floor, stomped on it,and went to the ice cream truck.thats how bad it was. flyy girl was good az a mug and was da first urban novel i read. but this 1 was some ass. sorry.

disappointed?

As it says on the cover, Flyy girl returns, she sure does. I have to say when i first found out Victor just walked out of her life i was extremly disappointed. I really thought that they would have a relationship, eventhough i knew from the start that the fairy tale wasnt gonna come true and they were going to live happily ever after and they weren't going to last i was still expecting him to be with her for a while at least. But i have to admit Omar Tyree did an exelent job with this sequal. As i read in a previous review some one mentioned that his new characters were under developed, but the thing is people have to understand that this was written first person prospective so ofcourse he wasnt going to get into the other characters lives. Remember this is Tracy's story not her little cousin's or the rest of those characters he only briefly explained. So unlike in Flyy girl Omar Tyree wasnt able to go into as much detail with the others as he did in the first book with victor, raheema, and all the other characters. Over all i think this secual lived up to Flyy Girl. Tracy isnt the same character as in Flyy girl, because she grew up when people grow up they change we should all know that. She did very good for herself. Omar Tyree's sequal lives up to 5 stars even if i was partially disapointed at first.

A SPIN UNEXPECTED !!

Well, I read Flyy Girl a few years back and was feeling like da book could've been better written till i got to tha end and realize this book was based on an actual woman. So i felt a little better about it. And I read it a few more times and felt alot better about it. Actually loved it! So when i came across da sequal, i read it and actually didn't enjoy it at first but constantly reminded myself that this is tha life of an actual person. So I tuned in more and really started lovin it. When I completed it, I decided to go online to reserch Tracy Ellison Grant to only find out through another book review of For the Love of Money that Tracy Ellison Grant was only a fictional character! I wonder'd why those books weren't under non-fiction. If you ask me Omar Tyree is one of tha best authors out there and this book certainly proves it!

Time marches on.

For me, FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY was not supposed to be FLYY GIRL II. It was exactly what it was intended to be, and that was the continuation of Tracey Ellison. Choosing to leave the backstabbing, lying, and manipulating behind and by wanting more out of her life than to be just the standard, Tracey decides to enroll in college to further her education to make it in the arena that masters in her former traits listed before...Hollywood, CA. Following her trek, she meet her share of hustlers and game players in the name of the almighty dollar, until she realizes that if she wants to make her mark as a serious player, she may need to revert a little to get what she wants. Victor returns as a method of closure for Tracey in a fashion that opens her eyes as to the man she didn't want to believe he could be. Reality can be a cruel but necessary friend. For anyone out there who want a repeat of FLYY GIRL, then keep your money in your pocket, because this book is not for you. If you want to read of a girl willing to own up to her past transgressions in order to create a better future, then this is the book for you.

tracy ellison "grant" is back with a vengence!

first off, i must commend mr. tyree for taking tracy to the next level with this novel. his writing style has most DEFINITELY matured since flyy girl, i LOVE to see how authors transform, becoming better at their craft...though i must say, the writing style of this book is slightly different than flyy girl, read this book and you'll understand what i'm talking about...now that i've given omar his props, i gotta tell you about tracy's transformation in this novel. let me start off by saying, that you'll be able to tell that tracy is tracy. though she's about 28 through the course of the novel (when omar's not flipping the story back to tracy's story of how she made it to the big screen, once you read the book you'll know what i mean). the scene where she reunites with victor, now qadeer muhammad, had me rolling hysterically. but i have to tell you, you'll definitely love reading about how tracy deals with stardom in this book, once again omar is on point... i can't wait to see you at the book signing in greensboro on the 31st omar! yet another commendable one for the books...which has me thinking, or you thinking about writing about how tracy deals with being middle aged? mmmm...a sequel to a sequel sounds in order to me...
