Outstanding series for today's busy cooks

I have nearly all the Food Made Fast series and love them all. They offer great tips on stocking your pantry, cooking quickly, making extras to save (tho, since I cook for two, I'm making two meals every time I cook a recipe!). The recipes save very easily - I usually put them into individual-sized casseroles with a nice lid (Corningware) and they freeze and reheat in the microwave beautifully, or hold well in the refrigerator for a day or two. They are also nutritious, and offer an excellent rotation of protein sources and styles of cooking. I try to avoid processed foods, and chemical additives - this series is mostly just cooking very quickly and deliciously from scratch - perfect! I appreciate the handy guides with suggestions for quick side dishes, too. I can get home and get the main course going, but then my brain goes into overload and I'm stuck using the same old sides. These guides help keep it all fresh and make it possible to plan a very nice meal while you're cooking it. My very picker-eater husband is always happy to see me cooking from these books, because he knows he'll love the result.

Not a Bad One Yet

My fiancee and I use this book and the grilling book almost nightly in one way or another and I can honestly say that these books are some of the best cooking tools you can have. All the recipes are delicious and are relatively quick, but they are also great starting points for dishes that you can totally make your own. I'm in the process of collecting them all...

I Heart This Cookbook

After browsing through many cookbooks looking for heathly, quick and easy cookbooks, I stumbled upon this one. It is honestly the best cookbook I own. The meal preparations have ingredients that I regularly stock and it makes cooking very simple. I also love the back of the book because it gives weekly meal suggestions so buying the ingredients are cost effective. I would highly recommend this cookbook for anyone who is just starting to cook or has been cooking for awhile.

really really like this one

great series, great book. it's now part of my weeknight rotation. everything i've tried has been wonderful. i especially like the chicken and peppers recipe. the book itself is great the way good williams-sonoma books are; beautiful pictures of everything and you know it will be fantastic, even if you haven't made it before. the recipes generally take me a bit longer than the stated prep time, but you still get great results, fast.

Very highly recommended for time-stressed kitchen cooks

Featuring a compilation of recipes by Melanie Barnard and superbly illustrated with the color photography of Tucker & Hossler, "Food Made Fast: Weeknight" a combination of quick and easy, 20-minute preparation time meals for busy nights, and delicious 30-minute 'start-to-finish' recipes for anytime that time is of the essence. Also included are simple but elegant recipes for making large batches of those dishes that can not only provide an immediate dinner, but serve as the foundation for two or three future meals as well. From Tandoori-Style Halibut; Lemongrass Chicken and Asparagus; Chimichurri Steak; and Sausages with White Beans; to Cuban Beef Picadillo; Moroccan Lamb Burgers; Herbed Spinach Frittata with Feta; and Italian Seafood Stew, "Food Made Fast: Weeknight"truly lives up to its title and would make an welcome addition to any kitchen cookbook collection. Also very highly recommended for time-stressed kitchen cooks are the other outstanding titles in the Williams-Sonoma 'Food Made Fast' cookbook series from Oxmoor House: "Slow Cooker"; "Baking"; Pasta"; and "Soup".
