Fluffy's School Bus Adventure

Fluffy is a classroom guinea pig whose thoughts are shared with the reader in his funny adventures. Fluffy is quite the character--he always gets into some sort of jam, but all ends well. In this story, the teacher (Ms. Day) places Fluffy & cage on the school bus since the student who was to take him home for the weekend has forgotten. As the stops go by, Fluffy is moved from one kid to another--getting suckers, silly putty and other 'treats'--until the student's stop. That's when the driver realises the student is the wrong Jasmine. Fluffy has to help when the bus breaks down and is again the hero when all ends well. Students love these gentle stories. Fluffy gets into all kinds of situations and kids like his attitude and thoughts. Although they are level 3 readers, kids of all ages (up to 5th grade) enjoy these stories. Check the series out--Kate McMullen is an excellent writer and knows the silliness kids like, while teaching good manners and gentleness. I highly recommend Fluffy, especially for 3rd and 4th graders(depending on their personality). These books encourage kids to read, even the most hesitant readers get involved in the story. They are easy to read and are only about 40-50 pages with larger print.
