Dont read this review because its and spoiler alert

Okay so the first book is a little slow but it breaks down alot of details and information that you NEED TO know to understand the rest of the books. ( not including the grand mother book , Probably best if you read her book before even reading any of these) The first book was kinda heartbreaking , they started out a loving family then their dad died and their forced to stay with their grandma and grandpa whom they NEVER MET AND TURNS OUT THE GRANDMA IS MEAN & SEEMS EVIL ... the kids are forced to live in the attic while the mother tries to gain back her fathers love. hes the twist the grandfather doesnt know their alive that is the main reasony their in the attic the story goes on for years and the kids grow up basically raising each other NEVER LEAVING that attic while their mother is out living her best . IMAGINE what something like that could do to you mentally ... ---------------- actually I guess im not going to spoil the book for you after all I definitely recommend reading the books EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM don't let the life time movies fool you because nothing is the same in them petals on the wind is years later told still by the eldest sisters point of view. WHICH IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS OUT THE WHOLE STORY . these books are so sick and twisted but I couldn't put them down. you ever watched something and it was sick to watch bt you couldn't turn away WHELP THESE BOOKS ARE THOSE TYPE OF GOOD definitely worth the purchases YOU WONT REGRET IT

So far a real good book....

I saw the movie flowers in the attic when I was a kid.... and let me tell you I am in my thirties and I still remember it. So like 20 years has gone by since i have seen the movie and I am in Half Price Books and I see this girl rummaging through V.C Andrews novels. I asked her what does V.C Andrews write and are her books any good? She tells me about the Flowers in the attic book and how there is like a whole series of them. And I freaked out. I told her how i had loved the movie as a kid. Well I bought the book and have been hooked every since. Now i haven't finished the whole book but when i put it down to deal with my every day life ( kids, laundry, cooking) the book is in the back of my mind. The two book comb Flowers in the attic and Petals in the Wind seem to flow there has been no gaps between the two stories that leave me wondering. So i would suggest if you plan on reading both books.... by this book combo. I think it was like $6.00 at half price books:) And dont be intimidated by the size it is a real easy read.

great find

My sisters and I were thrilled to find that this story was still available and is supplied in a multi-book form. The young girls in our family are becoming avid readers and this was a story we've talked about often. How nice to see it back on the shelves.
