Anita Blake has been asked to raise the dead-but the results aren't going to make everybody happy... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book was short but good. It's a lot more like the first books with the story in the forefront and the sex taking a back seat. I loved it I just hope Bullet is like this one.
One of her better ones

Laurell Hamilton continues to improve. "Flirt" is a tight, well written story that contains a minor mystery. It also manages to deliver one of the creepier scenes in any of her books. Yes, there is some sex, but for once it's not simply gratuitous. I am looking forward to the next book.
Great Novella!

I read Flirt and loved it. While waiting to receive my book, I read the reviews, both good and bad. However, many of the bad reviews seemed to not review the story but complain about the length of it. I have read many horrible lengthy novels and many wonderful short stories or novellas. This is one of the good ones. I liked having a piece of the old Anita Blake back. Like many of the reviewers, I could not put the book down once I started to read it. It kept me interested until the end. Also, I must say I've read all of the Anita Blake stories, in order, from the beginning and have gotten into the habit of anticipating how Anita evolves in the next novel. This story didn't leave me scratching my head at the end going huh? I can't wait to see how this ties in with the next novel Bullet.
Loved it!

I really enjoyed this short story about Anita Blake and what happens when she is kidnapped and magically cut off from her ties to others. I am somewhat disappointed by the price, but that isn't in LKH's control anyway. Shame on you, Berkley. Anyway, the flirting scene was great! The story also introduces a new group of werelions and a new twist on how far someone will go to bring back a loved one. I can't wait for Bullet, due out in June. Of course I wanted more, but this was a satisfying and quick read. :)
Satisfying

I have read all the Anita Blake books. Some of the recent ones were convoluted. This was was tasty and satisfying. Short, but delicious. The plot made sense. A guy wants his wife raised from the dead and goes to great lengths to force Anita to do so. The new characters are satisfying and fit in with the existing cast. The regulars make a short appearance but the story is not about them. It is about greed and how Anita deals with the effects of that. As always, she kicks ass and picks up a new guy. But it all made sense. A nice, neat and satisfying story. Enjoyable.
