Pokie, 13, and her older brother Gib, absolutely love airplanes. They both dream about becoming a pilot someday. They were always hanging out together and going to watch the planes. Sometimes they had a tagalong-Junior Hollinger, their next door neighbor. Gib goes off to collage out of state and comes home for the rest of his Christmas, but he leaves to go to Nell's house, his girlfriend, for the rest of his Christmas break. After Gib comes back a couple of months later with his girlfriend, Poke feels a little jealous because she thinks he is ignoring her. After Nell stays at their home for a while she finally gets used to her and eases up a little. When they finally decide to get married Nell had a fight with her parents. They said they weren't coming to the wedding. They got married and Gib gave Pokie an airplane ticket to Columbia, Missouri, so she could be the first one to come and visit them at school.
