First Kisses 4: It Had to Be You

The moment you will always remember? Your first kiss. Emma Miller just turned fourteen. And we all know that is when the fun begins. She is an expert on fashion and giving advice. She's an unstopable force. Any problem you have she can solve it. So, when Emma is offered the position of Dear Daisy, she can't possibly turn it down. As an incoming freshman at North Marshall High School, Emma has been chosen to take on the position as the resident freshman advice columnist to help solve the problems of her new friends. The only tricky thing about being Dear Daisy is the fact that she can't tell her best friend, and resident Lindsay Lohan worshipping, boy-crazy gal, Caitlyn, about her new title. The only people she can advise about her position are her parents, and her three older - and totally annoying - brothers, Aaron, Rob, and Michael. Too make life worse Caitlyn falls for her adorable and totally irritating brother. Emma ruins her chances of snatching her hottie of a neighbor by answering the front door wearing a clay face mask. But that's just the beginning of her roller coaster ride with total embarrassment. Emma,like most girls, is obsessed with looks,and has to look perfect before seeing anybody. When she bumps into kyle she always is looking oppisite of normal. First the mud mask, then grease on her forehead, followed by being dunked. As if that weren't horrible enough, Kyle, along with his five-year-old brother, Tommy, are under the impression that Emma is terrible at sharing and is evil. When she begins receiving e-mails at her Dear Daisy account from a guy called Romeo14, however, Emma begins to find herself immersed in dishing out as much romantic advice to the guy as possible. But the more she corresponds with "Romeo14," the more Emma realizes that, perhaps, she's not cut out for this whole advice thing. Especially when it comes to matters of the heart. It turns out it is a smaller world out there than emma relizes. Em would advise you to read this book....

First impressions aren't always the best, especially for Emma Miller when she first meets her new neighbor Kyle. Let's just says it wasn't one of Emma's greatest moments. But it wasn't entirely her fault. If only her brothers would've just opened the door for the person who kept on ringing that doorbell, Emma wouldn't have had to run downstairs, screaming her head off, forgetting that she still had her face mask on and was wearing a towel turban, and looking completely insane in front of Kyle. Unfortunately for Emma, it's not only the first impression that she's not really good at but also the second and third and everything after that. Since every time Emma's around Kyle something entirely crazy has to happen making it look like she isn't the best person to be around. It's bad enough that Emma has her three older brothers ganging up on her; Emma just doesn't need anymore problems, especially boy problems. Well, it's not like she likes Kyle, right? At least Emma has something to keep her mind off of that totally hot next-door neighbor. Entering the ninth grade, Emma had been secretly chosen to become the next Daisy for the "Dear Daisy" advice column in her school's newspaper. Emma gets her own secretive e-mail address for the column, which is where she finds e-mails from a Romeo14, who is having a little girl trouble. Emma is so used to giving straight-to-the-point advice that any question this Romeo14 asks, Emma has a solution for him. But this great advice that Emma always seems to have could possibly fail and ruin her life forever. Emma Miller has to be one of the cutest and craziest characters ever. Throughout the entire novel, you just can't help but feel what Emma is feeling. And with the addition of Emma's three brothers and Kyle's brother, the story just gets even better.
