Outstanding with understanding

This book was full of understanding the life of being with a woman and loving God (your religion). I read this book and could not put it down. Plus I had to share the great experience with friends so they could love it too.

Everybody's Got An Issue...Fess up to your own

I read the previous reader's comments, and I TOTALLY disagree. This book presented both sides of the gay issue in a way never done before, and it should have opened a lot of eyes about the homosexual lifestyle. It answered many questions and sparked a bit of controversy. One should note that this book is not addressed to homophobes if it were MANY of the details would have been left out. The author's didn't spare any of them. The sequel, UnderCover, is one of the best sequels I've ever read. It made me want to read Fire and Brimstone, and the story of those women who were put in the story to satify homophobic America kicked major butt - and not each other's - before it was all over. They're my new heroes - sheroes - of the new century.

Set Me on Fire!

I was recommended this book from a friend, who said it was "full of drama." Girl, she wasn't lying. Laurinda D. Brown has written a book that could be written from the life of a lot of lesbians. The writing and the plot were realistic and engaging. I followed the twists and turns of the Chris and Gayle, who each had her own story to tell and crosses to bear. I didn't really believe the ending was realistic, though; I guess I was expecting it to end differently. (Don't worry, I'm not going to give it away!) The moral of "Fire and Brimstone" is we are all flawed, sin and fall short. That's what makes us human. We have to figure out what's truly in our heart and learn to live with it. At the same time, we should also acknowledge there is a higher power that keeps us every day. I'm highly looking forward to her next novel, "Undercover," and hope she keeps up the excellent work.

Whew!! Talk about drama

This book was on point. I couldn't put it down until I eached the back page. It's so intriguing. The main character, Christian Desmereaux, goes through a lot of emotional, psychological, and spiritual trauma. A bad childhood kinda screwed her up and the effect shows in all her future elationships. Her lover Gayle is also a bag lady, and boy is she carrying a lot of luggage. This book explores the relationship between sprituality and sexuality and the church in the African American homosexuality circuit and two young special beautiful ladies on a long, ardous yet satisfying and rewarding journey to self-discovery

OOOH MY GOD! - THE REVISION IS DA BOMB!!

There is no way that anybody could tell me that this girl can't write! I read the first edition of Fire and Brimstone, and, as I will admit that it was good, it can't touch the second edition. The characters come to life! The last book had few, if any, character descriptions, but the author has made some serious adjustments. The story flows so much better, and I couldn't help but feel like this was the best book I've read in a long time.
