This second edition features three new Zuni stories, updated transcriptions of stories from the original edition, a bibliography, and a new preface and introduction.
This new group of Zuni stories (many never published before) is a wonderful testament to the author's ability to translate not only Maya literature (i.e. Popol Vuh & Rabinal Achi) but a North American Indian language as well. There was another prize-winning book by the same name that this author published earlier but it had many fewer stories. This is a better much better book!
A good intro into the mind and culture of the Zuni.

I first read this book while taking an introductory anthropology course at Cleveland State. Jim Frank was my teacher and this course and this book in particular started me down the road in seeking knowledge in the area of the social sciences. This book is an excellent starter for someone who knows very little about the native cultures of our great land.
