Great debut novel. I was quite impressed with Mr. Anderson's way of juggling the intricaties of the male mind (and libido) and giving us ladies a true look into the head and heart of an average brother in search of love, and himself. Funny as hell, and I liked the spiritual resolution.Cop this one ladies, you won't be disappointed.

I've read a lot of popular fiction and this book comes very close to the top of my all-time favorites list. Robert Anderson does a great job of incorporating straight COMEDY into a well-developed plot that follows the evolution of the main character, Saliq. As a woman, I usually spend a lot of my reading time pin-pointing how male authors miss the mark on developing their female characters, but didn't have the chance to critique Anderson in this way. Kudos! Can't wait for his next release.....

I love this book! The author has such style! His writing is so creative and vivid. It's easy to read yet displays his clever mastery of the English language. It has a pleasant dose of humor at all the right times. It's a great book for young adults, especially recent college grads. Kudos Robert!
Excellent! Is this really a "debut" novel?

I can't find the right words to describe this novel. Brilliant? Soulful? Introspective? Eye Opening? What gives?Mr. Anderson delivers the work of a seasoned pro his first time out. The book flows nicely, dipping in and out of flashbacks, then finally diving headfirst into the storyline. It's got a little of everything: romance, relationships, spirituality, a hint of social commentary, and did I mention it's pretty funny (you will NOT believe the scene with the date with the ghetto girl! - must read) to boot? All in all, I loved it. I'm anxiously awaiting "Salliq II"!
An Excellent, Full bodied Debut!

A unique mix of humor and spirituality. This good is just... different. I expected your basic "beach read", but this is anything but. It's a fine story that I think anyone can relate to if they've ever woken up one day and wondered exactly where their life was going and what was the purpose of it all. It's a book that will have you examining your approach to life. I could have done without some of the cursing, and a few of the female characters seemed one dimensional, but overall, it's a book about how men think, and there's nothing wrong with hearing that perspective for a change. And enjoyable, full hearted first effort. Bravo Mr. Anderson, Bravo!
