Financial Accounting: An Introduction to Concepts, Methods, and Uses

This is a text that requires a professor. It is not a do it at home by yourself text. Perhaps having been taught by one of the authors helps me to know what they have in mind here. It's a text that works at a number of levels of thought at the same time, it's really sort of deep. I'd recommend to be ready to take a lot of notes. You'll be in class and everything seems so simple. Then you go home and wonder how you could have thought it simple. I respect the other reviews, of course, and you should give them due consideration.

THIS BOOK CONTAINS A CLEAR EXPLANATION OF THE AMERICAN ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM. IT HAS A LOT OF EXERCISES BASED ON REAL FIRMS THAT IT MAKES A MUST -HAVE BOOK FOR PEOPLE INTERESTED IN THIS ISSUES. GOING THROUGH IT IS A FASCINATING APPROACH TO HOW A COMPANY WORKS AND WHY TAKES ITS BUSINESS DECCISSIONS IN A CERTAIN MOMENT. I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS BOOK FOR ITS EASY COMPREHENSION AND FOR ITS PRACTICAL EXAMPLES.

This book is taught in an excellent format for understanding the foundational and fundamental concepts of finance. The authors did an outstanding job with how this text is organized. It's also very simple in the explanation of concepts. Some finance books are written as if they were disssertations. This book brings the concepts down to the common man. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking to start graduate study in finance.

I am the co-author of this book. the 10th edition is now out. If you are a student, you'll want that. If you're trying to learn on your own, you'll find this 9th edition adequate and much cheaper. good luck. roman

This book is just great. It was the first book I had read about accounting and it helped me a lot. If anyone wants to learn about accounting, that person should pick this book. It's easy to read and very informative.
