I just finished this book after borrowing it from the library, but decided to purchase a copy to keep as a reference. Fantastic recipes and clear cut instructions on how to can, freeze and dry foods, as well as some helpful home economics tips.

This book is as much FUN to read as it is informative. The author gives us a glimpse of yesteryear as she retells of the preserving ways of her family. The recipes I have tried are outstanding, and not to be found duplicated in other books.

This book contains recepies found only in your grandma's recipe book. Fantastic instructions and recipes for kosher dill pickles as well as dandelion jelly. If you want to find out how to use all the fun things you grow in your garden this is the book to use. You will find all kinds of instructions for canning, drying and freezing of foods. Great book it's a shame it is out of publication.
