Your other best friend is just coming into his prime as a driver and gets killed. A friend and colleague dies testing a car bearing his name. An era of racing will never be duplicated and, gratefully, this book will never be one upped. And if you look at the list of drivers mentioned in the book, about 25% died in racing cars. Is it really the best book ever written? Ultimately, if you can understand why Stewart gets back into the car, then yes it is. But if you go away just shaking your head, then you've only proved your smarter than the rest of us. And its still the best book ever written.
