Faraway Child

This is a wonderful book that made me cry more than once. It goes over the struggle of finding out something is different with your child. The mother deals with other people's opinion of her child and child rearing, especially from the in-laws. There is an LDS/religious tone to it but it's not preachy and that wasn't really the point. In fact some church members were also judgey of this family and their nonverbal child at first. I felt that this book pinpointed some of my feelings raising a unique child and let me laugh and cry and see the joy of it all. Highly recommend, one of my favorites I will re buy over and over again!!
