Family Secrets

I read Family Secrets after reading Pursued. Pursued was so enlightening to me as a person with an Italian/Catholic upbringing. I loved the book Pursued because it unraveled many behaviors of my family and relatives from the past but mostly because it paints of clear picture of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the true meaning of a relationship with God. It reads like a novel. Suspense and mystery and hidden secrets of a life searching for meaning. Family Secrets is more of a sequel to Pursued and more of a historical compilation of facts about Smarto's life. It's interesting and a good read but I'm sure I would not have "gotten" a lot of what he was talking about if I hadn't read his autobiography, Pursued, first. If you are an Italian, a Catholic, a Christian, or just looking for a very interesting book about family ties to the Mafia, crime, and justice then Family Secrets is for you.
