FAMILY MONEY is one of those highly sought-after soap opera novels of the 80s but with an added benefit: it is as well written as it is engaging. The plot centers around a Parisian who emigrates to the States to live happily ever after with her army captain beau and their three children--but will she really? Set in the world of real estate for the rich, Michael French romp is filled with beautiful but unhappy people that spans over twenty some years. His narrative is rich and just as appealing as its multidimensional characters. Moreover, unlike many books in the genre, this one stands out as well for its untypical direction, making it one original read you'll be glad to have discovered.-----Martin Boucher
