Book Overview

INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

"One of the most important books I've ever read--an indispensable guide to thinking clearly about the world." - Bill Gates

"Hans Rosling tells the story of 'the secret silent miracle of human progress' as only he can. But Factfulness does much more than that. It also explains why progress is so often secret and silent and teaches readers how to see it clearly." --Melinda Gates...

Clear, incisive, insightful

A tour of statistical evidence deployed to negate the logical fallacies that dominate our discourse on the world and direction of human history. Rosling emphatically rejects being labelled an optimist: he is not out to convince you that the world is all right and good. Rather, his interest is in demonstrating the invisibility and value of slow, incremental progress, and clarifying for his audience that incredible things are possible -- not because we wish for them to be, but because we have already accomplished them in the past. It has proven a balm against despair and panic, and a boon for intelligently tackling the issues we face in the world.

Modern titan, family man, and philanthropist Bill Gates is busy (!), but he STILL makes time to read 50+ books a year, so here are a few that he recommended recently. (We know you're busy too, so you can shop right from our blog!)
