I have not finished this book yet but was compelled....

This is an impressive, comprehensive and MUCH needed book. I have not finished the entire book but felt compelled to comment just in case parents, teens or others were looking for help in the area of computer/Internet addiction. My family has been struggling with this issue for years with our two sons. This book and the "Habit Change Workbook" have become our "at home" rehab program. If anyone is dealing with this issue - run don't walk and buy this book. I am optimistic that you will be comforted by the information and a plan to deal with coming to grips with this addiction. Will write more later when I finish the book....

Eyes Online, Eyes on Life

In Eyes Online: Eyes on Life, author Jan Kern shares the story of Colin, a young man battling his internet addiction. Through Colin's point of view, Ms. Kern identifies the steps that led to his eventual addiction. But Ms. Kern's book doesn't take the stance that the Internet is unhealthy, nor does the book feel like an attack against all online activities. Rather, she urges young people to pursue a godly, balanced life. Ms. Kern acknowledges that living a balanced life is not easy for teens today and in doing so also provides real advice about how to pursue a balanced lifestyle. Ms. Kern's writing style is direct and easy to understand. Her questions are often thought-provoking, the kind that make you shut the book and really think about how you're living and what it means in light of eternity. This book is not a light Christian read. In fact, it often feels like a mirror, forcing the reader to examine his heart and life.
