Just because you can, doesn't mean you should

I consider myself somewhat of an expert in the horror genre. I have read literally thousands of books concerning horror. Good horror should not be disgusting or overtly gross just for the hell of it. Mr. Shaw continuously writes very short books that mainly deal with abductions and then in overly descriptive narration tries to make the reading audience shocked (I guess) or horrified. There is a scene involving feeding human excrement to a bound woman that was not horror; it was simply an attempt at horror.
I will not buy another of his "books".
