Zoe isn't exactly the intellectual type, which is why she doesn't recognize world-famous author Thomas Rocher when she stumbles into his apartment . . . and into his life.

Adorable is the blanket that covers this in its entirety- writing and art. Luckily -and somewhat masterfully- it DOES NOT trivialize, minimize or compromise its quality! Of course, the adorable gets a some of the laughs, but the bevy of its humor delights without any dressing.
Sure, you could call this a chic(k) book, but that classification echoes everything you just read above and only a Junior Varsity reader judges a book by its ideal audience. If that causes you to skip this entirely- you deserve a face fart while you ride the bench on the intramural squad.
The characters are captivating, complex and dynamic. Their interplay is authentic and captivating in the moment while being constantly anticipatory. My definition of that last adjective is an appreciatory compliment: it means that if you aren't reading in a monotone, you will be joyfully guessing and anticipating between a few directions of how each interaction will play out. That causes me to constantly suspend the turning of pages to make an eager decision then relish being right or savor the surprise. Incidentally, I'd say I read the book three times from all the re-reading I did while flipping back pages to replay scenes, rewinding entire plot progressions and even venturing back farther to bridge them together out of pure enjoyment- not out of confusion.
I could go on an on but just read it and give the art its share of your enjoyment!
