A terrific book of essays by an Appalachian writer
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
This is a book that was given to me years ago by one of my teachers. I picked it up again recently, and I truly love it. It's a collection of essays about the Appalachians, the changing of seasons and the nature (good or bad) of humanity. Dykeman reflects on her childhood past in Asheville, NC and her travels beyond from Delphi in Greece to Beverly Hills. Her work challenges us to protect our natural surroundings and to renew ourselves with inner reflection. If you're in the mood to look inward and talk a walk through the beauty of Appalachia, this is a perfect read.
