Executive Jobs Unlimited is the only book I've ever read that treats getting interviews as a marketing activity instead of an H.R. task. Seems really obvious, once you think about it, but very few people approach it like that. I got my first job using Carl Boll's techniques in 1979, and I've used it ever since. An interesting side note--after nailing that first job using the original edition of the book, I found the second edition in the corporate library. The dedication--new to the second edition--was to my great-grandparents, Lowell & Marie Jepson, who took a young Swiss immigrant named Carl Boll into their home and family and helped him get his start in life. I'm as grateful to Mr. Boll for my new start as he was to my grandparents for his....
Solid Gold - A must read for all transitioning executives!

An old book discovered by my father in his library and sent to me as an 'afterthought' to assist in preparing my career transition ... man, am I glad he did! Even though it's 35 years out of print, this book is solid gold to any executive seeking a career change. From cover to cover, it's fully insightful, tactical, and strategic - - and it works. Perhaps I shouldn't speak too highly of the book as it may be "re-discovered" by the masses and thereby render its techniques commonplace ... but if there were only one book to recommend on managing career shifts, this one's it!
REFLECTIONS - This allowed me a 20 year career in new field.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has enough pride in him/her self to seek better employment. Other books got me off on tangents but Boll's book got me ontrack. In fact it's fun reviewing my accomplishments and researching CEOs. Also gave me an opportunity to use my PC data base in a productive manner to send out the broadcast letters. The book was out of print 20 years ago when I used a borrowed copy but have since found and keep a copy I refer to often.
Especially Useful for someone "between jobs"

Recommended to me by a headhunter 35 years ago, it has never been approached by any other book in its unique approach. It's filled with "common sense", but paradoxically Boll's proposed strategy is rarely pursued by other "experts". Contrary to another reviewer's statement, your resume is your most basic and critically important tool. You just never send it out! Boll's system is perfect for the skilled computer user, if you are innovative with mail merge.
The only good book on how to get a job that I have read.

This book tells how to write a letter to a prospective employer that will not only be read, but will likely get you that all important interview. If you get enough interviews, you will get jobs too! By using the types of letters advocated by this book, I have not only gotten jobs for myself, but I have been able to help others do the same. My batting average for helping others get interviews has been way over 50%!!
