An investment advisor takes the mystery out of high technology stocks offering an analysis of the key companies, predictions of their performance, and investment formulas. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book makes so much sense. Murphy points out the indicators that our society and economy are undergoing fundamental changes, as significant as the evolution from a hunter-gather society to agricultural; agricultural to industrial; industrial to commercial; and now it's commercial to informational/high-tech. Even if you weren't interested in his investing advice, this book would be worth reading for enjoyment, and to educate yourself about the developments that are going on in our society in technology and biotechnology. But once you read this book, you'll find yourself unable to resist taking Murphy's advice on investing. Who wouldn't want to do just what he says after he tells you the inside scoop (Wall Street is underestimating the potential because they're so far removed from where the action is) that is practically guaranteed to make you a lot of money (just look at the indicators around you!)? After reading it, I subscribed to his newsletter and check his web site daily (www.techinvestingonline.com), and I follow his advice. I've certainly joined the Mike Murphy cult, even though I recognize that his writing is a bit sensationalist...I can't not believe that what he's saying is true.

I have been working in the high tech field for 15 years and must admit I didn't do a great deal of investing in it. I feel so STUPID now, after reading Murphy's book. If only I had sat down and thought through some of the facts. So much of what he says I knew was true, but his genius is in what he does with the basic facts. I am convinced here lies great wealth. Growth flow and how it considers R & D spending is so simple, and like so many simple thoughts, very powerful. I hesitate to say too much, because in one sense I don't want to let the word out, but it already is. So my advice is to read it!I can't say enough good things about this book. I have an MBA from a well recognized business school and this is simply the best book on investing I have ever read , and I've read a few. A must read for anyone who wants to be in charge of their investing destiny well into the next century.Buy, borrow or relieve someone you know of this book!
A must read for anyone thinking of buying high tech stocks

Murphy gives a very concise means of evaluating these difficult to value companies based primarily on their 12 month trailing EPS and past fiscal year expenditures on R & D, that one expense that will make or break a high technology company. Anyone that is thinking of buying stocks of high tech companies should read this book to gain insight into the best means of placing a value on the company in question to know when the price is right for that company. Traditional means of valuation are just not valid for these companies according to Murphy.

Murphy gives us a glimpse into the future and teaches us why investing in tech stocks is different from investing in blue chips. Everyone should read this book. It provides tremendous insight into where these companies will be in 15 years. I think the advice offerred here will make anyone a lot of money
