A sweet romance

MY THOUGHTS: Everlasting love is truly a sweet romance novel. As usual, my only complaint is that I wished the happy ending was a little longer or there was an epilogue. The basic gist of the story is when Olivia was 18, she has a love affair, or should I say a just starting love affair, with the 33 year old Chief of Surgeon, Marcus. Unfortunately, Marcus is currently separated from his wife and has a 12 year old daughter, Sally. Coupled with a meddling mother in law, you know that young Olivia encounters misunderstanding, torment and uncertainties and broken heart. Fast forward six years later and she meets Sally again and is once again back in their lives when Marcus gets into an accident and is pronounced blind. Olivia becomes his private nurse due to Sally's insistence that only Olivia can bring back the old Marcus. Of course, we know that Oliva also still loves Marcus thats why she agrees, haha. So throughout the book, the proud Marcus battles with Olivia daily and Olivia is under the impression that Marcus doesn't remember her - aka that she was just a fling/meant so little to him - little does she know!!! Anyhoo.. I thought this book was really sweet because we found out later that the hero was TRULY in love with the heroine. He never had another woman after first meeting the heroine! Wow!! 6 years of celibacy ~_~ We already know our heroine is in love with the hero and of course she never had another man and was in fact still a virgin - of course, Marcus relieves her of that, hahaha... And its so sweet how Olivia really does her best to help Marcus, try to heal him and everything despite all the cruel barbs Marcus throws at her. My only complaint is that the ending was too fast. All the explanations & reveals happened at the end of the book, then boom it was done. It was almost like, wham, bam, thank you maaam... I wish they put an epilogue =( But despite the rushed ending, it is still a keeper.

He needed her, but he'd never love her

Seeing Dr. Marcus Hamilton again was an ordeal for Olivia. He had always been the proudest, most self-assured man she'd ever known. That's what made his reaction to his sudden blindness all the more disturbing. When Olivia tried to help him, he directed every bit of his rage toward her, using every weapon he could think of to cause her pain, too. Yet he was blind to the one weapon that could destroy her - her love for him. For Marcus didn't even remember the impressionable student nurse he'd had a meaningless fling with years ago.
