A well written and convincing indictment of the IC Statute

Eastland's book makes the case that the Independend Counsel Statute is not only expensive, impractical and unconstitutional, but that it also relieves the President and Congress of their accountability and responsibility to act in accordance with ethical politics. The "ethics of politics," which are the traditional (pre-1978) mechanisms for prosecuting executive 'malfeasance,' were enough to get rid of Nixon and should be all that we need to address the problem.
