Great book

I love this series. It's fun and edgy. I can't wait for the next installment.

EXCELLENT!!

The book is very intriguing! I found myself lying in my bed reading for more than two hours at a time! I finished the book in just about two days, it was so good! This book is the second of three, so make you don't read it first. I have read this first, and now I have to read the first one, knowing what is ahead. But I highly recommend it! Vampires!! AWESOME!

These are great books!

I love vampire slayer stories. And Eternal Hunger is a great ending (or continuation) of this new series. I loved that the main love interests got together in this book. It's good to see the vampire human relationship work out. I even thought the ending was great. If this series is only going to be a trilogy, then what greater expression of love than each risking their life for the other. And if there are more books, which we all hope there will be, then the door is left open for more surprises for the couple (and the readers). Don't listen to the 1 & 2 ratings. These books are funny and surprising. Qualities not often found in angst driven vampire romance books.

A Compelling Finish to the Trilogy

*WARNING: SPOILERS* I was very surprisingly satisfied with this entire trilogy. From a previously unpublished author, I wasn't expecting such a well thought out story. I wasn't expecting such an intriguing cast of characters or such a compelling romance . . . but that's exactly what I found in The Candace Steele Trilogy. In Eternal Hunger, Candace is almost immediately attacked by a member of The Board and Ash's nemesis: Sloane. On the verge of dying, Ash begged her to let him turn her into a vampire- an idea so repugnant that it had destroyed their relationship for five years the first time he tried to turn her. This time, she asked him not to let her go. When she awoke again, it was to the reality that she was one of the monsters she had been fighting against for so long. Knowing of Candace's hatred of vampires, Ask does not fully turn her; instead he leaves her in an in-between state where she has the choice to choose between her own death and finally drinking from a living vessel and finishing the turn for good. Candace's struggle to come to terms with her own existence and her new understanding of Ash is enthralling. Finally, in Eternal Hunger we get the pay off (in terms of their relationship) that we had been waiting impatiently for during the first two books. Candace finally learns to accept that she's in love, and always has been, with a vampire- a vampire who has loved her deeply from the beginning and who has made sacrifices for her so that she can be happy. A vampire who will do anything for her, even make one final last sacrifice. The ending, as much as it upset me, as much as it made me cry (ok, sob a little) was a great, if heartwrenching, finish to the trilogy. The three books had been leading up to just such an ending- Candace knew that she and Ash had no future together, that their relationship was finite. As a reader, as difficult as it is to accept, we know that as well. So do not let a potentially upsetting ending deter you from reading this book. It's a testatment to how well the story, the characters and the romance were written, that it has so angered the previous reviewers. I enthusiastically recommend not only Eternal Hunger, but the entire Candace Steele trilogy . . . and yes, I'm desperately hoping that Ms. Dean will write another book with these characters.

fabulous vampiric romantic suspense thriller

In Las Vegas Candace Steel works for securityin the Scheherazade Casino killing vampires who drink human blood and keeping them out of the casino so they don't tip the odds in their favor by using their powers on the humans who work there. Candice is imminently suited for the job because she can sense when a vampire is nearby and has the strength to complete the task. She also loves powerful vampire Ash though she can never see him because she doesn't want to be turned and spend eternity with him. When a strange vampire attacks her and leaves her for dead, Ash appears and gives her a chance to become a vampire otherwise she will die from her wounds. She chooses to become a vampire, moves in with Ash and learns how to be a vampire, but she drinks no blood other than his. Still she knows that soon she will have to make a choice because she can drink from him for only so long before she will need other blood. In the meantime, they are both in danger from the Board who seeks immortality through the three objects of the Egyptian god Thoth and are willing to use the couple in a blood sacrifice. Ash and Candace devise a trap which they hope could save the world from the rule of evil gods. Candace and Ash's love story spread out over three books culminates in ETERNAL HUNGER, a beautiful tale as the reluctant heroine realizes that she loves Ash with all her heart as he does her. This is one of the best poignant vampire romantic thrillers of the year and readers will become thoroughly ensorcelled by the magic of the storyline. Fans will have a craving for more Vegas vampiric romantic suspense thrillers by this talented author. Harriet Klausner
