Why Am I Afraid to Love?: Overcoming Rejection and Indifference

The capacity to love is in everyone. Yet so often it remains trapped and waiting to be released. In this text the author confronts the barriers that restrain. He looks at the fear of rejection, the motives for love, how to truly understand the inner self and what true love looks like. He then considers the true test of love: can self be forgotten in loving others. This description may be from another edition of this product.

Contains good insights on love

The first, second, and last chapters of this book are great. The middle part is interesting, but one can take or leave it. Fr. Powell starts by speaking of love, and the problem of lack of love. He speaks of pain leading to selfishness. The middle of his book is a lot of psychological development issues that I'm not sure belong in that book where they are. In the last chapter, Fr. Powell finally makes his point. We must...

A definite eye-opener!

This book really helps you look into yourself and examine what you are afraid of and how to overcome it. This book is wonderful for people who have trouble letting their walls down and really loving others (as well as themselves). This book is also useful for people who don't think they have that problem. I highly recomend this book to everyone. It's one to keep and re-read as you grow and mature in life.
