Not just for people of the Christian Faith

Lets start with the cover. The first time that I saw this book, I immediatly wanted to touch it! The cover has a warm fuzzy feeling unlike any other that I have ever seen. Because the story deals with Jesus, many may say that this isn't the book for them. But on the contrary! If you replaced the name Jesus with the name Bob, the story would still be magnificient! Once I started this book, I wasn't able to put it down until I had absorbed every letter. My children also love this book and it is destined to become a family favorite. THis book is not just for christmas anymore1

Wonderful Book

I don't read much, but I was not able to put this book down once I got started. The story is riveting! You can't wait to see what will happen next. I read Book one and really enjoyed it, but I have to say, this one I loved. I fell in love with Michael and felt as though I was living in the story with him. I was devastated at the end, 1) because it was over and 2) because I couldn't believe it left me hanging like that! I can't wait for Book three!!! If you like horses, you'll LOVE this book.

Of Arabian Horses, Jesus, and the Magi......

I was drawn to the cover of ESCAPE FROM EGYPT because of the chestnut Arabian Horse, pictured on the cover. When I read the summary, I almost passed out at the concept! Arabian Horses. Jesus. The Magi. MAN!!! I was astounded at a book that connected my faith with the horse I love. I have always wondered what happened to the wisemen after they saw Jesus. Did they go back and pick up what they were doing before leaving to find Jesus or were they forever connected to Him? Were they there when they crucified Jesus? Were they witnesses to His teachings? I would think that after traveling and meeting the Savior, their lives could not be the same again. At about the same time, the sequel to THE MUMMY opened in movie theaters. The main character in the movie, as played by Brendan Fraser, discovers that he is a descendant of the Magi. He even had a special mark on his arm that only the Magi had. Weird huh? This book and then this movie talking about the magi. Arabian Horses are amazing animals. I enjoy a very rewarding relationship with my own Arabian. They are deeply spiritual horses. With a lot of love and respect, an average human being can be a witness to the incredible majesty of our God. The splendor is evident in these horses. So, I actually read the second book first and the first book second and I loved them both. I recommend it to anyone who loves horses or even is looking for something a little different to read. I can't wait for the next one.

This story gallops!

If you like plot-driven books that keep the action going and going, you'll enjoy Escape to Egypt. This second book in the Lost Legend Trilogy begins shortly after the birth of Jesus and follows the holy family as they escape King Herod's wrath and flee to Egypt. Michael, again the central character, escorts the holy family and remains with them in Egypt. This highly imaginative book centers on that journey and the childhood of Jesus as Hardesty tries to fill in those years of which the Bible is silent. It's also Michael's coming-of-age and beginning of romance. A subplot that began in book one and will culminate in book three is Michael's search for his father, who traveled with the Wise Men that attended Jesus' birth. I was especially impressed with the detail and description about horses. It was obvious not only that she's been around them, but that she loves and understands them.
