A stimulating commentary by Herman N. Ridderbos, reflects the author's wide learning and keen grasp of the contemporary discussions of textual problems. It is an incisive and reasoned exposition. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This commentary on Galatians by the famous Dutch theologian Herman Ridderbos used to be part of the New International Commentary on the New Testament. But then it was replaced by a newer commentary on Galatians by Ronald Y. K. Fung. Apparently, even though it's not part of the New International commentary set, Eerdmans has decided to publish it separately. That's good news for bible students because that provides easy access to more of Ridderbos's good bible commentary. While we're on the subject of Herman Ridderbos, let me recommend another one of his books to you: The Coming of the Kingdom. It's a discussion of the subject of the Kingdom of God in Jesus' teachings. The Kingdom, theologians agree, was the main focus of Jesus' teaching. His insights into Jesus' teachings are so clear and simple yet so compelling...he just brings it alive for me. For me personally, whenever I read that book sometimes I just sit there amazed as I ponder the implications of what Jesus was saying about God's authority, rule and reign, both present and future.
