I have purchased and struggled with a number of SolidWorks books. Both directly from SolidWords and from 3rd party publications. I find myself lost in their layout, presentation and frustrated in wanting additional information with most books.I purchased SolidWOrks 2001Plus by Planchard & Planchard. This is a good book. I cannot say enough to encourage those of you wanting to learn SolidWorks in a step by step approach with real outcomes and information from real companies. Planchard & Planchard are users and teachers. The book is very clear and easy to follow.

dear authors:my name is g.s.suryanarayana(if you find it a mile long you can call me SURI).i had the good fortune to see your above book in the design office run hitherto by a friend in bangalore, india.he had had SOLIDWORKS installed on his computer and it was exciting to see him turning out wonderful drawings after creating the solid models. seeing my curiosity he suggested that i try my hand at the computer in the eveningsand gave your book. he said that since i had also retired from the machine tool industry (maintenance) i did not need any guidance from him and the book would lead even a novice to become a near-expert. i started trying my hand at S/WORKS from may 2002 and by october this year acquired enough skills to produce solid models, assemblies and 2-D drawingsalmost of professional standards, astonishing my friends and the people at the big silk weaving mill(one of india's largest exporters) where i work as a maintenance consultant.i am now visiting my son in california and was hoping that after my return to bangalore i would be able to continue my learning and, hopefully, start making a few drawings now and then for my friend as a token of gratitude for the pleasure he let me have with solidworks. once again congratulations on bringing out your book and thanks for thehundreds of hours of pleasure it has given me.reards, suryanarayana
