This book is an excellent example of naturopathy's 'occult vitalism, spiritism, teleology & kind misrepresentation:' the coding of their 'purposeful life spirit' central article of faith, and the mislabeling of such as able to survive scientific scrutiny. I quote Pizzorno, J. (ND NCNM): "[ p.057] the following six principles are the foundation of for the education of naturopathic physicians and the practice of naturopathy [...including naturopaths encourage] the body's self-healing process, the vis medicatrix naturae [...] an inherent self-healing process in the person that is ordered and intelligent [...we're] educated in conventional medical sciences [...our principles] are based on the objective observation of the nature of health and disease and are continually reexamined in the light of current scientific advances [...p.059] the degree of doctor of naturopathic medicine requires four years of graduate-level study in the medical sciences." -r.c.

I've just received my copy & have just started reading the book. Initial impression...very comprehensive and an excellent resource for anyone entering the field of alternative healthcare.
