Book Overview

They say you can't get to Heaven without passing through the Eternal Rest Funeral Home. And no one gets into Eternal Rest without passing muster with Elvis--the basset hound who's convinced he's the reincarnation of the King of Rock 'n' Roll. Brewing up a big ol' pitcher of Mississippi mystery, Peggy Webb's delightful new series is as intoxicating as the Delta breeze. Normally, Callie Valentine Jones spends her days fixing up the hairdos of the dead,...

Elvis is alive and well.

Out of all of the books that I've read so far, I have loved each one and everyone of them. Read them, you won't be disappointed!!!!

This Bassett Hound is the King!!!!

This series is beyond delightful. It is humorous and gives you the mystery you need...who killed who and why. Can not wait to read the next one .

Great Book

This book will make you laugh out loud. It is a great book to curl up with on a rainy day. I hope the author writes lots more of this series. I highly reccommend it to anyone looking for a light funny read.

Run, Elvis, Run

I'd never read Peggy Webb, but I could hear those Southern Cousin's voices in my head. Callie's clicking tock; her estranged but sexy mysterious Harley-riding husband; a custody battle over a Bassett hound; Uncle Charlie's calm demeanor and mafia responses; Lovie's lust for bad boys, and Mama's Prohibition Punch make this a laugh out loud too fast read. Can't wait for the next. And just one more thing, given Callie's penchant for Manolos, why isn't Elvis howling "Blue Suede Shoes"?

Elvis is alive and well. TCB Baby!

What a fun read. I found myself smiling and giggling throughout the book. I'm a huge Elvis fan. The story was fast paced and fun. I found myself jealous of Callie's shoes and her Jack. Can't wait to learn more about Champ...sounds interesting. The peanut butter and banana sandwiches are good but the book is waaaayyy better. A great introducion to a cast of characters that I can't wait to read more about in the second book of the series. Pegggy Webb can write comedy with a southern flair like nobody's business. Enjoy the read.

laugh out loud great!!!!!!!

Great book that has everything.I laughed out loud from start to finish.I can't wait for the second book in this series. Peggy Webb writes southern life with flair and really great shoes!

WOW! The Beginning of a Masterpiece Series!!!

Peggy Webb is a master story teller and the preeminent comedy writer in American today. It was with great anticipation and high expectations that I waited for the first book of her new comedic Southern Cousins Mystery Series, since I devour everything she writes. I was not disappointed; instead I was mesmerized, entertained and joyously laughing through the final chapter."Elvis and the Dearly Departed" is without a doubt the funniest book I've ever read! Peggy Webb delivered a bravura performance from start to finish. Not only did Webb create a dog who thinks he's Elvis, but she made me believe it! I can't wait for the other books in the freshest, most exciting new series in the mystery genre.
