As a structural engineer, I have read many books on subjects like this one. I learned structural theory in 1970's from this book and others. This was best of the lot at that time. Hsieh's book is quite clear and straight forward. Before computers, we were expected to know how to analyze frames using the classic methods, like moment distribution and the unit load method. This book has good examples of these methods, as well as other useful techniques like the conjugate beam method. Someone has "borrowed" my copy, and I need a new one!
