library markings, hardcover and mylar covered dust jacket, beautiful illustrations, by Werman This description may be from another edition of this product.
Like so many books in the Eerdmans' library, this history of Christianity is nothing short of excellent! The book is actually a collection of articles on various subjects from Christian history (people, places and events!), each written by an author who is knowledgeable in the field - thus avoiding the trap of having a chapter written by someone who really does not fully understand the subject that he or she is expounding on. The articles are organized chronologically, and give the reader a good understand on each subject. Along the way, the reader is treated to many colorful maps and color pictures. Overall, I think that this is an excellent history, and that a book that no Christian home should be without. If you want to know more about your church, within the context of the history of Christianity in general, then you really should get this book. I highly recommend it!

Eerdman's strikes gold again. They have done excellent work with they're books on the Bible and Christianity in America and this one is the best. It's not dry and long like other History's of Christianity and includes pleanty of photos to keep you from being bored. If you can find a copy of this get it!
